After the Peanut and Aetna Better Health of Illinois have partnered to provide online tutoring and homework help to qualifying health plan members in grades K-12 across the state of Illinois.
After the Peanut focuses on the power of knowledge and education in the face of adversity and challenges. Through innovation, the organization continues to provide solutions for ongoing and ever growing problems in the educational system. Whether it’s curriculum design, professional development for educators, or training on equity in K-12 STEM, After the Peanut is at the forefront of best practices in education.
Due to negative impacts of COVID-19 After the Peanut has seen an increase in the need for online tutoring and homework help. Their solution is virtual one-on-one tutoring and homework help underwritten by organizations, like Aetna Better Health of Illinois, a company that values the whole member and knows the importance of embracing their members’ perspectives and needs.
After the Peanut CEO, Natalie Coleman says “this is a much needed service due to the full remote learning by most school districts across the state of Illinois because of COVID-19”. As a Black business owner, woman and veteran, Natalie is grateful for the partnership between Aetna Better Health of Illinois and After the Peanut and knows from first hand experience that the one-on-one tutoring sessions will help close the gap in educational opportunities for many students.
