Founded in 2014 and inspired by George Washington Carver, After the Peanut champions STEAM education to empower communities through knowledge and innovative, real-world learning experiences.
Our STEAM Explorers program provides engaging experiences through hands-on opportunities, field trips, labs, and college tours. This program augments the traditional school curriculum to provide students with meaningful real-world experiences in STEAM and the businesses behind STEAM products. These programs are open to 3rd-8th grade students.
Medical Detective Camp by After the Peanut Foundation (ATPF) is an immersive, career-connected experience where curiosity meets real-world discovery. Held on a college campus, this dynamic camp gives students the opportunity to step into the role of a medical detective, working collaboratively to solve a mock crime using scientific reasoning, forensic techniques, and critical thinking.
Each day includes hands-on investigations and daily field trips, connecting students directly with professionals across law enforcement, the legal system, healthcare, and medical fields. Participants will explore how science is used to uncover evidence, understand human health, and support justice — all while building confidence and awareness of future career pathways.
Students will engage in authentic problem-solving scenarios, meet experts, and experience what it feels like to apply classroom learning to meaningful, real-life challenges. This is more than a camp — it is a launchpad for future scientists, doctors, investigators, and innovators.
Space is intentionally limited to just 15 students per week to ensure personalized attention and a high-quality experience. Spots will fill quickly.
